Simagic · P-Active · Servo-Driven Active Pedal

Simagic P-Active Servo-Driven Active PedalA pedal that changes its feel to suit the car, and talks back from the telemetry.

The P-Active is Simagic's first active pedal. Instead of a fixed spring, elastomer stack or hydraulic cylinder, a servo motor controls how the pedal resists your foot, so one unit can recreate spring, elastomer and hydraulic brake feel, then be switched to a throttle or clutch in software. Dual 250 kg load cells sit directly behind the pedal face for precise pressure sensing, and live telemetry such as ABS, wheel lock, wheel slip, RPM and gear shifts is fed back through the pedal itself. Available from Player1 Sim Gear, your authorised Simagic dealer in Australia, shipping Australia-wide.

  • Mounts to what you already own: adapter kits for the Simagic P1000 and P2000 platforms (and aluminium profile) are in the box.
  • Each P-Active needs its own 48 V DC power supply and connects to a PC or a compatible Simagic wheelbase. See mounting and connection.

Before you order

The P-Active is a single pedal, not a full pedal set.

Most drivers fit it as an active brake and keep their existing throttle and clutch. It bolts to a Simagic P1000 or P2000 platform, or straight onto aluminium profile, using the adapter kits in the box. It does not fit the inverted P1000i. Simagic also has a dedicated P-Active Baseplate on the way as an optional accessory. Not sure how it will sit in your rig? Call us and we will check it with you.

One pedal, any feel, with the car's telemetry under your foot.

Programmable Pedal Feel

A servo motor controls the resistance, so the same pedal can feel like a spring, an elastomer stack or a hydraulic brake. Change it per car instead of swapping parts.

Active Telemetry Feedback

ABS, traction control, wheel lock, wheel slip, RPM, clutch bite point and gear shifts are turned into feedback you feel through the pedal, not just see on a dash.

Dual 250 kg Load Cells

Two custom 250 kg sensors mounted directly behind the pedal face read your foot pressure at 16-bit resolution, with a 180 kg limit set in software.

Brake, Throttle or Clutch

Assign the role in SimPro Manager. Start with an active brake today and add more P-Active pedals later, all on the same hardware.

Raised-Pivot Geometry

A higher pivot gives a more forward pedal stroke with less ankle rotation, lining your leg force up for finer pressure control and a smoother release.

Compact, Patented Design

Simagic's patented design packs the servo drive and dual load cells into one compact unit (335.9 x 87 x 241.5 mm), built from CNC aluminium alloy, PC and rubber, with the control box included.

What makes an active pedal different

Optimised pedal geometry

Push forward, control better

On most pedals your foot pivots at the ankle and the force goes in at an angle. The P-Active raises the pivot point, so the stroke moves forward rather than down.

  • Less ankle rotation through the stroke, which is easier on long stints.
  • Leg force lines up with the pedal, so pressure is easier to hold and modulate at the threshold.
  • Smoother release when you trail off the brake into the corner.

Max force

Every bit of force you apply is measured

The two load cells are mounted directly behind the pedal face rather than further down the linkage, so they read your foot pressure more directly. Sensor capacity is 250 kg, and Simagic caps the usable range at 180 kg in software.

  • Pressure, not position: braking follows how hard you push, like a real car.
  • 16-bit resolution for fine control right at the edge of lock-up.
  • Adjustable pedal force so you can set the effort to suit your seat position and leg strength.

Active feedback

A pedal that responds to your drive

Because the resistance is servo-driven, the pedal can do more than push back. It turns live telemetry into feedback under your foot, so you can feel the ABS working or a wheel starting to lock before you see it.

  • Telemetry effects: ABS, TC, wheel lock, wheel slip, RPM, clutch bite point and gear shifts.
  • Recreates real pedal types: spring, elastomer and hydraulic feel from one unit.
  • Fast return: full-stroke return in as little as 100 ms, for a pedal that keeps up with quick inputs.

Open pedal ecosystem

Build your pedal setup your way

Start with one P-Active as an active brake alongside your current throttle and clutch, then expand at your own pace. Multiple P-Active pedals link to each other over Ethernet (RJ45), so you still only need one USB connection to the PC.

  • Fits Simagic P1000 and P2000 platforms with the included adapter kits.
  • Aluminium profile mounting using the P2000 profile adapter kit.
  • Optional P-Active Baseplate (coming from Simagic) supports P2000 pedal faces and third-party throttle and clutch pedals.

SimPro Manager

Tune every part of the pedal in software

The P-Active is set up in Simagic SimPro Manager, the same app that runs Simagic wheelbases and pedals. Official presets give you a starting point for each role, and everything can be saved as your own preset.

Role and presets

Assign the pedal as brake, throttle or clutch, with official presets for each, plus your own custom presets.

Force curves

Linear, exponent, logarithm and S-curve presets, or a custom response curve with eight editable control points.

Dead zone and travel

Adjust the dead zone at the start and end of travel, plus pedal travel, angle, linearity and force.

Damping

Switch damping on or off, with separate compression and rebound damping from 0 to 100%.

Friction and end stops

Adjustable friction intensity (0 to 100%), and front and back stops in Soft, Standard or Firm.

Telemetry effects

ABS, TC, wheel lock, wheel slip, RPM, clutch bite point and gear shift effects, felt through the pedal.

Simagic P-Active FAQ

The basics

What is an active pedal?
An active pedal uses a motor to create its resistance instead of a fixed spring, elastomer or hydraulic cylinder. That means the feel is set in software, it can change from car to car, and the pedal can add feedback from the game such as ABS pulsing or wheel lock. The Simagic P-Active uses a servo motor to do this.
Is the Simagic P-Active a full pedal set?
No. The P-Active is a single pedal. Most drivers use it as an active brake alongside their existing throttle and clutch, and you can add more P-Active pedals later if you want an active throttle or clutch as well.
Can the P-Active be used as a throttle or clutch?
Yes. The role is set in SimPro Manager, so the same hardware can be a brake, throttle or clutch, each with its own official presets. You simply assign it in software.
What load cell does the P-Active use?
It uses custom dual 250 kg load cell sensors mounted directly behind the pedal face, read at 16-bit resolution. Simagic limits the usable force to 180 kg in software, so you get precise measurement well inside the sensors' capacity.
What does the telemetry feedback do?
The P-Active turns live telemetry into effects you feel through the pedal: ABS, traction control, wheel lock, wheel slip, RPM, clutch bite point and gear shifts. On the brake, for example, you can feel the ABS working or a wheel starting to lock up.

Mounting and setup

Will the P-Active fit my Simagic P1000 or P2000 pedals?
Yes. A P1000 adapter kit and a P2000 profile adapter kit are both in the box, so it mounts to the Simagic P1000 platform or a Simagic P2000 set.
Does it work with the inverted P1000i?
No. The P-Active is not compatible with the inverted P1000i or P1000i-RS.
Can I mount it straight to my cockpit?
Yes, if your cockpit uses aluminium profile. The included P2000 profile adapter kit lets the P-Active mount directly to profile. Every rig is a little different, so if you want certainty before ordering, tell us your cockpit and we will check it with you.
What is the P-Active Baseplate?
It is an optional Simagic accessory, sold separately, designed as a dedicated home for the P-Active. It also supports P2000 pedal faces and third-party throttle and clutch pedals, so you can build a mixed pedal set around an active brake.
Does the P-Active need its own power supply?
Yes. Each P-Active runs from its own 48 V DC supply (8.3 A, 398 W max). If you run several P-Active pedals, each one needs its own power, even though they can share one USB connection to the PC.
Do I need a Simagic wheelbase to use it?
No. The P-Active connects to a PC directly, so it works alongside any wheelbase, including MOZA, Fanatec, Simucube and Heusinkveld setups. If you run a Simagic base such as the Alpha EVO Pro, it can connect to the base instead.
Does the P-Active work on PlayStation or Xbox?
No. The P-Active is designed for PC sim racing.

Comparing options

How is the P-Active different from the Simagic P-HPR haptic reactor?
The P-HPR is a vibration module you add to a conventional pedal for telemetry effects. The P-Active goes further: the motor controls the pedal's actual resistance and feel, as well as delivering telemetry feedback. The P-HPR is the affordable add-on, the P-Active replaces the brake mechanism itself.
Should I choose the P-Active or a hydraulic pedal like the P2000?
A hydraulic set like the Simagic P2000 gives one excellent, fixed feel. The P-Active can recreate hydraulic, spring and elastomer feel and change it per car, and adds telemetry feedback. If you like to tune, or drive very different cars, the P-Active is the more flexible choice.
How does it compare to other active pedals?
We also stock the Simucube ActivePedal Pro and the MOZA mBooster Active Pedal. The P-Active makes the most sense if you already run Simagic pedals or a Simagic base, because it mounts to your P1000 or P2000 platform and lives in SimPro Manager with the rest of your gear. Call us and we will talk through which suits your rig.
