Introducing Pimax Prime. How does the process work?

Step1:  Purchase your headset through Player1 Sim Gear

Step2: Once you receive the headset you have 14 days to try it.

Step3: If you decide to keep the headset after the 14 day trial, you'll need to pay a membership fee via the Pimax Play app to continue using the headset.  You'll have two payment options:

1, Pay over 24 months at $18.58 per month (AUD)

2, Pay upfront with a 10% discount ($401.33 AUD Total)

Note: If you decide to return the headset after the 14 day trial period, you will receive a full refund less shipping and 3% handling costs. The user is responsible for shipping costs of the returned unit.

 

Pimax Crystal Light: High-end PCVR for everyone

The Crystal Light serves as a streamlined iteration of the Pimax Crystal, retaining the core specifications that underpinned the original model’s success while removing features less important to PCVR use cases.

It boasts a 2880 x 2880 resolution per eye, with a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz, and continues to employ glass aspheric lenses. These features ensure the Crystal Light remains a highly competitive option in the high-performance VR market.

This new, budget-friendly model is introduced as a pure PCVR headset with no battery, no XR2 processor, and no standalone capabilities. Such adjustments have not only significantly reduced costs, but also decreased the weight by 30%. The decreased weight, coupled with enhanced ergonomics, has notably improved the comfort level of the Crystal Light compared to its predecessor.

To further manage costs, the Crystal Light does not feature interchangeable lenses like the Crystal, nor does it include the eye-tracking feature. However, Pimax has upgraded their Fixed Foveated Rendering technology, which does not rely on the eye-tracking feature as the Dynamic Foveated Rendering does, to continue to assist users in compensating for potential GPU power limitations.

FAQ

Is Crystal Light sharing the same displays and lenses with Crystal?

Yes. Crystal Light’s display and lenses materials are consistent with Crystal. But Crystal Light’s lenses are not removable, so customers don’t have the option to customize their own lenses.

What’s the recommended PC setup or graphics card for the Crystal Light?

The recommended settings include:

GPU: RTX 3080, RTX 4070, RTX 3080 Ti, RTX 4070 S, RTX 3090 Ti, RX 6800XT, RX 6900XT, RX 6950XT, or higher.
CPU: i5-12400, i5-12490F, i5-12500, i5-13400, i5-12600, i5-14400, i5-13490F, i5-12600K/KF, i5-14490F, or above.

However, the minimum requirement for the Pimax Crystal Light is:

GPU: RTX 2070, RTX 2070 S, RTX 4060, RTX 2080, RTX 2080 S, RTX 3060 Ti, RTX 3070, RTX 4060 Ti, TITAN RTX, RTX 2080 Ti, RTX 3070 Ti, RX 5700XT, RX 6700XT.
CPU: Must be i5-12th generation or higher (hard requirement).

Does the RTX 3080 work with the Pimax Crystal Light?

Yes, the RTX 3080 is compatible with the Pimax Crystal Light. For flight and racing simulations, you can achieve medium graphics quality by adjusting the parameters.

Is it possible to purchase the controllers at a later date if I only purchase the Crystal Light headset to start with and then later wants controllers?

Yes, the stock controllers are listed on our webstore. You can purchase them later if you want to play games with controllers.

Are the DMAS Earphones compatible with Crystal Light?

Yes, same as Crystal, DMAS Earphones are compatible with Crystal Light. But DMAS's weight is 5.3 Ounces (150g), this weight difference will make Crystal Light less lightweight.

Is Lighthouse Faceplate compatible with Crystal Light?

Yes, Lighthouse Faceplate is compatible with Crystal Light. With a Lighthouse Faceplate, Crystal Light can easily pair with Base Stations 1.0/2.0, then it can pair with Pimax Sword/HTC Vive/Valve Index Controllers.

Is the Topstrap compatible with the Crystal Light?

Yes, same as Crystal, Topstrap is compatible with Crystal Light.

Can I choose to customize Crystal Light lenses?

No, Crystal Light's lenses are not removable.

What is Local Dimming? Is there any difference between the 'with Local Dimming' version and the 'without Local Dimming' version? Will there be any display difference, or just software differences?

Local Dimming is a technology that enhances the black levels on your screen, making the dark areas even darker. The difference between the 'With Local Dimming' version and the 'Without Local Dimming' version is not only reflected in the hardwares, but also in the software. The purpose of launching Crystal Light is to better cater to the needs of users who pursue high definition but have a low budget. Implementing local dimming technology not only relies on software algorithm support, but also requires mini-LED backlight technology.

Therefore, the 'Without Local Dimming' version of the head display does not have the original backlight configuration.

Shipping

We want you to get your new gear as fast as possible, so we always aim to ship on the same day we receive your order, using the fastest and most reliable couriers in Australia. Of course, it may not always be possible to process your order on the same day, so please allow 1-2 business days for processing. If we encounter any delays we will let you know via email.

To  maximize efficiency, Player1 Sim Gear ships all products in their original packaging straight from our warehouses or directly from our suppliers and manufacturers. Orders may be shipped in part or in full, and different courier companies may be used for different parts of your order. Please allow 2-8 business days for delivery.  Please advise your phone number at checkout so we can get in touch with you if there is any problem. If you should receive a product that has been damaged while in transit please contact us immediately.

Please make sure someone will be available to receive your order, otherwise, your package may be diverted to your local post office or to your local shipping depot. We recommend all deliveries are sent to a business address to avoid any re-delivery charges.  Note: Player1 Sim Gear will only ship to confirmed addresses, we cannot ship to PO Boxes sorry.

There may be times when the product you have ordered turns out to be out-of-stock with us or our suppliers. We will contact you to arrange a refund or alternate product if an item you have ordered is out-of-stock or unavailable for immediate shipment. You may cancel your order at any time prior to shipping.

International Orders: Apologies at the moment we don't ship internationally as standard. However if you outside Australia and there is something you'd like to purchase please do message us at sales@p1simgear.com.au, we will be happy to see what we can do.

Note re Larger cockpits and remote locations:  We do our very best to ensure accurate shipping rates, however for larger cockpits and heavier items, rarely our shipping pricing may not be correct. In the event that the actual shipping costs for a large item should be exceed those quoted in your order, we will call you to discuss before we dispatch. You will have the option then to amend or cancel your order at no cost.

Returns

We hope we can provide as much information and guidance as possible about each item so that you will love whatever you buy. We do understand though that the unforeseen happens. So in the unlikely event you wish to raise a return, please contact us and we shall discuss options and how we will proceed with the return request.

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.  You may return your item(s) for an exchange/refund, so long as it is in the same condition that you received it, unopened, with tags and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

To request a return, you must first send an email to support@p1simgear.com.au with your Order number as the email subject and Reason for Return in the email body/message. We will reply to your email with your relevant return information. We will not accept any returned items if we have not had an email from you requesting a return, so you must request a return first, before sending anything back. 

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

All returns are subject to the following conditions:
  • You, the buyer, are are fully responsible for paying all charges necessary to return the item to us. A restocking fee of up to 20% of the returned product's value may apply.

  • Items must be returned sealed and unused in their original packaging and in a fully resalable condition. All items are supplied to you, the customer, in brand new condition unless explicitly stated otherwise in the product title. For such items supplied in Brand New condition, if any seals have been broken, the item cannot subsequently be sold as new after the return, therefore the return will be declined or a restocking fee will be levied and partial refund given.

  • If the item is deemed DOA or faulty once opened, we shall troubleshoot and assess the nature of the fault and repair the item or replace like-for-like, should the fault be deemed a legitimate fault.

  • Items returned that are not in their original condition may not be accepted, and the refund request declined.

  • Returned items must be complete with all packaging in good condition, ready for immediate resale. All components and items within packaging (e.g. polystyrene/bubble wrap) must be returned also. We reserve the right to levy a charge to replace product packaging which is damaged  / defaced / missing.

  • We cannot accept responsibility for returned parcels which are undelivered back to us (e.g. lost by the courier, delivered to incorrect address) or damaged in transit back to us. We strongly advise you send returned items using an insured & tracked service. Furthermore, we also strongly advise you to obtain and retain your proof of postage, as you may require it should you decide to make a claim against your carrier should they damage or lose your item whilst returning it to us.

For items which require assembly, we are not responsible for any charges (labour or otherwise) incurred during fitment/removal of allegedly faulty (or incorrectly supplied) parts.

Returns made outside of the 30-day return window, or with no valid reason, will be declined.

Pre-Order Cancellations
In the event a Pre-Order becomes unavailable or is cancelled by Player1 Sim Gear you, the buyer, are entitled to a full refund. In the event that you change your mind or choose to cancel your Pre-Order for any reason prior to shipment, cancellation fees may apply to offset any unrecoverable costs incurred by Player1 Sim Gear.
All Pimax products come with a full 12 month Manufacturers warranty. Even if you are out of your warranty period and you have an issue, let us know, we will work with the awesome team at Pimax to look after you. For more info see: Pimax Warranty

How do refunds work?

  • You pay the base price and receive the headset.
  • If you like the headset, choose Pimax Prime (payable to Pimax directly), you can choose to pay at once for a discount (12%), or you can keep trying the headset for 10 days (and then choose Prime), or refund.
  • Refunds are only possible during the trial period.
  • Any refunds issued will also include any costs paid for Pimax Prime.

What if there's an issue with the headset?

For any technical issue through no fault of the user within the warranty, Pimax will replace the headset at no cost for the user. Any costs, including shipping , are covered by Pimax.

After you’ve completed the 2 year subscription, you can then use it for free as long as you like?

Yes. After 24 months (or if you decide to pay off Prime in one go), the whole headset is yours and you'll never be required to pay for any subscription. The subscription is tied to your headset, so even if you sell it, the subscription won't reset.

Why is the price split into two parts?

  • This refund policy from Pimax is quite good, users can try the headset for 10 days and then refund it if they want. (Many high-end VR brands do not offer any form of refund.)
  • We see this as offering more flexible options for users. Users can choose themselves to pay for Prime in one time or 24 months.

How to sell the headset if I'm still paying per month?

  • Again, 24 months is an option. Users can also just choose to pay in one-go and never have this situation.
  • Any contract duration left, users can also pay off the remainder of the months left, but then no discount (10% for Light and 12% for Super) is available.
  • Even then, every headset (including Pimax Prime) can be transferred twice in the duration of the contract.

What happens if I choose the monthly plan and miss a payment?

You can pay Prime at once and you never have this situation occur. But yes, if you choose for monthly payments, and miss a payment, then the Pimax Play software will stop functioning, until you complete the payment.
