The RS ecosystem

Logitech G RS: modular direct drive, done right

Logitech G RS is Logitech's direct drive platform, built around the 8 Nm RS50 base. It's modular: start with a base, add a hub and rim, then grow into pedals, a shifter and a handbrake. Every part works together, and the quick-release hub swaps rims in seconds.

It's the natural step up from a G29, G920 or G923 into real direct drive, without jumping to the flagship Logitech PRO. Use the builder below to spec a full setup. Pricing is on each product page in AUD, inc GST.

Platform compatibility

PlayStation comes from the base

Only the RS50 Base (PlayStation/PC) carries the PlayStation security chip. The PC-only base can't run PlayStation.

Xbox comes from the hub

Xbox needs the RS Wheel Hub for Xbox/PC, that's where the Xbox chip lives. It works on either base.

PC runs on everything

Every RS base, hub and wheel works on PC. Want all three platforms? PlayStation/PC base + Xbox/PC hub.

    The range, explained

    Which RS part is which

    Wheel bases & ready systems

The RS50 Base is the 8 Nm direct drive engine, in a PlayStation/PC or PC-only version. Prefer plug-and-play? The RS50 System pairs the base with a hub, round wheel and table clamp, ready to race.

    Wheel hubs & rims

The RS Wheel Hub mounts to the base and carries the buttons; choose the Xbox/PC version if you need Xbox. Rims quick-release on and off: the Round Wheel for all-round racing, the Track Wheel for formula and GT, and the Formula Wheel (McLaren Racing Edition) for an officially licensed McLaren formula rim. The QR Adapter mounts many third-party rims, and there are purpose-built rims from Simube and MPI too (see below).

    Pedals

The RS Pedals are a modular throttle-and-brake set with a firm, progressive brake feel. Add the Clutch Module to fit a third pedal for manual-clutch launches and heel-and-toe downshifts.

    Shifters & handbrake

The RS H-Shifter is a 7-speed H-pattern shifter for rally, trucks and classic manual cars. The RS Shifter & Handbrake combines a sequential shifter and a progressive handbrake in one unit, ideal for rally and drift. Both connect over USB and work on any platform.

Third-party rims built for the RS hub

Logitech isn't your only option for rims. Several premium wheels are purpose-built to click straight onto the RS Wheel Hub with no adapter needed. The Simube GT3/F1 rim suits GT3 and formula cars and comes in carbon fibre or aluminium. The MPI GT330 and MPI GT310 Supercar rims, from Max Papis Innovations, are a hugely popular race-inspired upgrade. All of them quick-release just like Logitech's own rims.

    RS vs PRO

Logitech G RS or Logitech G PRO?

Both are direct drive. RS is the accessible, modular way in; PRO is the flagship for maximum force and feel. Here's how they line up.

Logitech G RS: Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Logitech G RS ecosystem?
Logitech G RS is Logitech's direct drive sim racing platform, built around the 8 Nm RS50 wheel base. It's a modular system: you start with a base, add a wheel hub and steering rim, then expand with pedals, a clutch module, an H-shifter or a shifter-and-handbrake unit over time. Every part is designed to work together, and the quick-release hub lets you swap wheel rims in seconds.
Does the Logitech RS50 work on PlayStation 5?
Yes, when you use the RS50 Base (PlayStation/PC). The PlayStation licence is a security chip inside the PlayStation version of the base, so it works on PS5 (and PS4-generation titles that support it) as well as PC. The PC-only base cannot run PlayStation.
Does the Logitech RS50 work on Xbox?
Yes, when your setup includes the RS Wheel Hub for Xbox/PC. The Xbox licence chip lives in that hub, and it works on top of either base, the PC-only base or the PlayStation/PC base. Add it to a PC-only base for Xbox and PC, or to a PlayStation/PC base to cover all three platforms.
Can one RS setup work on PlayStation, Xbox and PC?
Yes. Pair the RS50 Base (PlayStation/PC) with the RS Wheel Hub for Xbox/PC and a rim. The PlayStation chip in the base plus the Xbox chip in the hub means a single setup covers PlayStation, Xbox and PC. The builder above will spec this for you if you choose all three.
What's the difference between the RS50 Base PlayStation/PC and PC-only versions?
They're the same 8 Nm direct drive base. The only difference is the PlayStation security chip: the PlayStation/PC version has it, the PC-only version doesn't. Buy the PlayStation/PC base if you ever want to play on PlayStation (now or later). Buy the PC-only base to save money if you only race on PC or Xbox. Remember, Xbox comes from the hub, so a PC base plus the Xbox/PC hub covers Xbox and PC.
What is the RS Wheel Hub and do I need one?
The RS Wheel Hub is the part that mounts to the base and carries the buttons and quick release; your steering rim clicks onto it. You need a hub (plus a rim) to steer, unless you buy an RS50 System, which already includes a hub and wheel. Choose the Xbox/PC hub if you need Xbox; otherwise the standard PlayStation/PC hub is right.
What's the difference between the RS50 Base and the RS50 System?
The RS50 Base is the wheel base on its own, you add a hub and rim separately. The RS50 System is a ready-to-race bundle: base, wheel hub, round steering wheel and a table clamp in one box. The System is the easiest single-purchase way to start; the Base suits anyone who wants to choose their own hub and rim.
What's the difference between the RS Round Wheel and the RS Track Wheel?
Both are quick-release rims for the RS hub. The Round Wheel is a traditional round rim that suits road cars, GT and general racing. The Track Wheel is a flat-top-and-bottom rim shaped for formula and modern GT cars. Because they swap in seconds, many racers own both and change to suit the car.
Can I swap wheel rims on the RS hub?
Yes. The RS hub uses a quick release, so the Round Wheel and Track Wheel come on and off in seconds without tools. If you own more than one rim you can change between them mid-session as the car or discipline changes.
What is the RS QR Adapter for?
The RS QR Adapter lets you mount many third-party steering rims onto the RS quick release, so you can run an aftermarket wheel on the RS hub. If you only plan to use Logitech's own Round and Track wheels, you don't need it.
Are there third-party rims made for the Logitech RS hub?
Yes, and they're popular. A few premium rims are purpose-built to click straight onto the RS Wheel Hub with no adapter. The Simube GT3/F1 rim suits GT3 and formula cars and comes in carbon fibre or aluminium. The MPI GT330 and MPI GT310 Supercar rims, from Max Papis Innovations, are a well-regarded race-inspired upgrade. All of them use the same quick release as Logitech's own rims, so they swap on and off in seconds, and you'll find them in the build tool above.
Are the RS Pedals any good, and what does the Clutch Module add?
The RS Pedals are a modular throttle-and-brake set with a firm, progressive brake for consistent braking, a big step up from entry-level pedals. The Clutch Module bolts on as a third pedal so you can do manual-clutch starts and heel-and-toe downshifts. Add it if you drive manual cars or want full control.
What's the difference between the RS H-Shifter and the RS Shifter & Handbrake?
The RS H-Shifter is a 7-speed H-pattern shifter for rally cars, trucks and classic manuals. The RS Shifter & Handbrake is a two-in-one unit with a sequential shifter and a progressive handbrake, ideal for rally and drift. Choose the H-Shifter for true H-pattern rowing, or the Shifter & Handbrake for sequential shifting plus a handbrake in one.
Do the RS pedals and shifters work on console, or PC only?
The RS Pedals, Clutch Module, H-Shifter and Shifter & Handbrake connect through the wheel base or over USB and work on whatever platform your base and hub support. They aren't what determines PlayStation or Xbox compatibility. That's set by the base (PlayStation) and hub (Xbox).
How much force feedback does the RS50 have?
The RS50 base delivers 8 Nm of peak torque from a direct drive motor. That's genuine direct drive feel, noticeably stronger and more detailed than gear- or belt-driven wheels like the G29, G920 and G923, while staying manageable for desk and cockpit mounting.
Can I use my old Logitech G29, G920 or G923 pedals with the RS base?
Logitech's G Racing Adapter lets you connect earlier Logitech G-series pedals (and the Driving Force Shifter) to the RS and PRO bases, so you can carry gear over while you upgrade. For the best feel, though, the dedicated RS Pedals are the natural match.
Will the RS50 fit my cockpit or desk mount?
The RS50 base uses standard bottom-mount and side-mount bolt patterns, so it fits the wheel decks on cockpits from Trak Racer and other major brands, and it can clamp to a sturdy desk. Browse our racing cockpits for a rigid mounting option, or with your cockpit model and we'll confirm the fit.
What is the RS50 Track Bundle, and is it cheaper?
The RS50 Track Bundle is the complete all-three package in one box: the RS50 Base (PlayStation/PC), the RS Wheel Hub (Xbox/PC) and the RS Pedals, plus your choice of any of the five rims (Logitech Round or Track, Simube GT3/F1, or MPI GT330 or GT310 Supercar). Because the base carries the PlayStation chip and the hub carries the Xbox chip, it runs on PlayStation, Xbox and PC. Buying it as a bundle is cheaper than buying the parts separately, and you pick your rim on the bundle page. The current bundle price and saving are shown live in the bundle panel above.
How does Logitech G RS compare to the Logitech G PRO?
RS is the accessible, modular direct drive range built on the 8 Nm RS50; PRO is the flagship with more torque (the PRO DD11 base is 11 Nm) and Logitech's TRUEFORCE technology. RS is the better choice for stepping up to direct drive and building a setup over time; PRO suits experienced racers who want maximum force and detail. See the comparison table above, or ask us which fits your goals.
Which RS setup should I buy first?
For most people the RS50 System (base + hub + round wheel + clamp) is the simplest complete starting point, just add pedals. If you want to choose each part, start with the right base for your platform, add a hub and rim, then the RS Pedals. Use the builder above to price a full setup, or for a personal recommendation.
Do you stock Logitech RS in Australia, with warranty and GST invoice?
Yes. Player1 Sim Gear is an authorised Logitech G dealer. RS products are genuine, priced in Australian dollars including GST, and carry the full manufacturer warranty handled locally in Queensland, no overseas returns. In-stock items ship fast from within Australia, and every order comes with a tax invoice.
