Common questions

Frequently asked questions

What is the MOZA FMP18?
The FMP18 is MOZA's front-panel bundle for flight simulation, inspired by a classic carrier-based fighter jet. It brings together dual DDI displays, a centre AMPCD moving-map display and an FPP front panel, with tactile controls and a snap-on magnetic bezel, in one industrial-grade recreation of a real naval aviation cockpit front panel.
What is included in the bundle?
You get two DDI display modules, one centre AMPCD display module, one FPP front panel module, the snap-on magnetic control bezels, a quick-adjust mounting clamp, and the USB cabling (three USB 3.0 Type-A and four USB Type-C, all 1.5 m). MOZA Cockpit software is a free download.
What do DDI, AMPCD and FPP mean?
They are the modules that make up the front panel: the DDI (Digital Display Indicator) side screens, the AMPCD (Advanced Multipurpose Colour Display) centre moving-map screen, and the FPP front panel with its keypad and controls. Together they reproduce the layout and control logic of the real cockpit.
How big are the displays?
The DDI and AMPCD modules use true 7.1-inch square active display areas at 800 x 800 resolution with a 60 Hz refresh. The full panel measures 7.5 inches, with a 7.1-inch viewable area once the magnetic bezel is fitted. Square screens match the real aircraft far better than cropped or rectangular displays.
How does the magnetic quick-swap work?
An innovative magnetic mounting system combined with a pogo-pin connection lets the control bezel and the display separate and reattach quickly, with no tools and no cables to unplug. It makes reconfiguring or storing the panel fast and simple.
Can I adjust the brightness?
Yes. The display offers 10 levels of brightness and the button and rotary backlighting offers 15 levels, so you can fine-tune the panel to stay clear in daylight and easy on the eyes at night across long sessions.
How many controls does it have?
There are 95 buttons, 16 rotary controls and 7 toggle switches, all engineered to provide distinct tactile actuation feedback so you get clear confirmation of every input during operation.
How does it mount to my rig or desk?
All standalone modules have standard VESA 75 x 75 mm rear holes (M4 x 10 mm screws), so the FMP18 works with the included desk clamp, aluminium-profile rigs, wall mounts, monitor arms and most third-party VESA solutions, MOZA or otherwise.
Can I set the viewing angle?
Yes. The included quick-adjust clamp changes the panel angle using a single M8 wrench, without removing any hardware. It supports the complete FMP18 assembly and individual modules, and stays compatible with other MOZA display panels.
Can I use the modules separately?
Yes. The FPP panel, display and magnetic control bezel can be combined in different configurations or used independently. With the bezel removed, the display can run civil aviation instruments and displays from other fighter jets, so the FMP18 suits a wide range of flight sim setups.
How do I configure it?
Configuration is done in MOZA Cockpit software, which supports complete button and rotary mapping and lets you assign the left, centre and right displays freely. This makes it straightforward to integrate the FMP18 into your existing simulator and add-on software.
What platforms does it support?
The FMP18 connects over USB and is configured through MOZA Cockpit on PC (Windows). It is designed for desktop flight simulation and works alongside your joystick, throttle and rudder pedals.
Does it work with my MOZA flight gear?
Yes. The FMP18 is part of the MOZA flight range and shares the same VESA mounting and MOZA Cockpit software, so it pairs cleanly with MOZA joysticks, throttles and mounts. Browse our MOZA range and flight sim controls to complete the cockpit.
What warranty does it come with in Australia?
As the authorised Australian dealer for MOZA Racing, Player1 Sim Gear handles warranty locally in Queensland with no overseas returns required, backed by Australian Consumer Law.
Do you ship to New Zealand?
Yes, we ship to both Australia and New Zealand. Contact us for a freight quote and timeframe to your location if you would like one before ordering.
Is the price in AUD and does it include GST?
Yes, the price shown is in Australian dollars and includes GST, from a local authorised MOZA dealer with no hidden import fees.
Can you help me build a full flight cockpit?
Absolutely. Message us and we can help you match the FMP18 to a joystick, throttle, rudder pedals, mounts and a cockpit or stand for a complete flight simulation setup.
